" Who am I, Really ...? "

 

    

       Hello...! I'm Dihini Hasandi Herath.  It's a pleasure to introduce myself.  I'm passionate about photography because I like to keep the memorable moments close to me. 

         A little about me, I'm 21 years old and I'm from Ratmalana. I studied at St. Paul's Girls' school - Colombo. I currently study at University of The Visual & Performing Arts. There are four members in my family. Father, Mother, Brother and Me.  My father is a Police Inspector, and my mother is a housewife. My brother studied at University of Jayewardenepura.

                 My strength are I'm self-motivating person and I'm quick leaner and believe in learning from my past mistake. I think I have good Communcation skills, and I like to present programs. 

                   In my free time I try to practice new dancing steps and styles in other Countries. And also, I really like watching Korean movies and listening to Korean songs. I always try to cook new dishes together with my mother.

The most important part of my life, one day I dream of becoming a dancing lecturer at my university. That's my unlimited goal, and I always strive to do my best to achieve it.

  "The Noir Queen Kuweni" ballet was created by the creator Chandana Wickramasinghe, a great figure in Sri Lankan dance. This ballet was based on the story of the ancient queen Kuweni. This ballet was performed at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre, Colombo on January 3, 2025. Professor Mudiyanse Dissanayake and Dr. Ravibhandu Vidyapathi were involved in the acting and dancing for this excellent ballet, and Dr. Peshala Manoj provided the music. Here, Professor Mudiyanse Dissanayake played the role of the King Malaya, and Dr. Ravi Bandhu Vidyapathi played the role of the King Panduvas Dev.    Actress Niranjani Shammuka Raja contributed her meditative and excellent dance to the role of Kuveni in this ballet.   A dancer has the ability to instantly understand and control the movements of their body without consciously thinking about them. This is called Kinesthetic awareness or proprioception . This allows a dancer to maintain an intuitive understanding of their body during dance without any hindrance. A key aspect of the dancer brain is an acute sensitivity to rhythm and timing. Adapts to subtle shifts in dynamics and tempo according to music or a certain rhythm. Here, a dancer's brain is active, with the innate ability to not only perform rhythms with music, but also to interpret it in the context of the moods that accompany it at that moment. The dancer has the ability to connect deeply with emotions and has the ability and skill to physically embody those emotions. A dancer has the ability and skill to express emotions such as pain and pleasure through their physical movements in relation to the event being performed in the dance.   People have many hobbies, and my hobby is photography. I love it so much. Because with the click of a camera, we can capture beautiful events and memories that we might otherwise forget, and keep them forever as a memory, without letting them fade away. I think photography is a uniquely powerful hobby that is different from other hobbies. I first picked up a camera during my school days. I was also a member of the school's photography society, where our teacher taught us how to properly photograph an object or a scene. Photography has now become an integral part of my life and has grown into a passionate hobby. The school environment was a beautiful place that gave us the opportunity to take photographs for the first time at our school.
